Hey! I’m Devan, the designer
behind Sew Toot.
I’m a mama to three [soon to be four!] little ones. As you might have guessed, my hands are a bit full so babywearing has naturally been a huge part of our family’s parenting journey. Being a military spouse, I’ve learned to juggle many hats and wouldn’t be able to do it without our baby carriers. I’m passionate about babywearing and sharing the lifeline that it has been for us with others.
Creating has always been a natural extension of who I am. I remember sketching lots of different inventions as a kid. I was always trying to convince my mom that they were worth marketing [and she never believed me!]. I never imagined that my skills in graphic design and love for babywearing and sewing would mesh, and I’d be designing baby carrier patterns.
I love to sew carriers. I would argue that they are one of the most gratifying sewing projects ever. There aren’t many things that can compare to the feeling of being able to pull a carrier fresh from your machine and put a baby in it, knowing that YOU made it. It makes me feel like a superhero.
In my spare time I am usually really spontaneous. I love to make people laugh, learn new things, explore, take pictures, ride dirt bikes, and spend time with my family.
